Head Stand Pose

The Head Stand pose is one of the most beneficial yoga postures for both the body and mind. The reverse of gravity helps reset the heart, improve blood circulation, and release back pain.
To execute this position kneel down and rest the weight of the body on the forearms. Wrap the hands around the elbows and maintain the position for a few seconds. Release the hands and place them in front of the body with the fingers interlocked.
Place the top of the head on the floor, while the back of the head remains in the hands. This allows the inverted body to have a firm foundation made of the hands and elbows, which form a tripod. Once this position is achieved straighten the knees and slowly raise the hips.
Bring the feet in a position as close to the head as possible without bending the knees. The head should be in a straight line with the spine and hips pulled in such a way that the neck does not bend back or forward.
Bend the knees into the chest and gradually lift the feet off the floor, while slowly moving the hips backward. Take a short break and do not immediately raise the knees higher. Using the abdominal muscles lift the bended knees towards the ceiling and slowly straighten the legs. Most of the body weight is usually felt on the forearms. Reverse all of the steps to safely come to the original position.
