Corpse Pose

Yoga Corpse Pose

Despite the fact that the Corpse Pose is considered a classic yoga pose, it is in fact one of the most difficult Yoga Asanas.  It can be practiced before, in between or after Asanas.

Before starting this pose ensure that the body is laid symmetrically because proper space is needed to stretch the hands and legs.  Once this exercise is finished the practitioner will be left with a feeling of marvelous relaxation in every muscle.

When working on this pose it is best to start by rotating the legs in and out and letting them fall slowly to the sides.  Repeat this movement with the hands.  Next work the spine by turning the head from side to side.  Finally stretch as if someone was pulling the head away from the feet.  The shoulders should be kept down and as far away from the feet as possible.

Soon the entire weight of the body will go into a deep state of profound relaxation.  At this time breathing is an important element for obtaining the best results.  Breathe deeply and ensure the entire abdomen is rising with each inhalation.  Many Yoga specialists and practitioners agree that there are many beneficial actions happening in the entire system when breathing is done correctly, such as removal of stress and reduction of the body's energy loss.

For its many beneficial results, the Corpse Pose is a highly popular relaxation pose.
